Quiet book for Darius

I made this book for one of my nephews for his first birthday. I wanted to create some pages suitable for his age, but at the same time to be interactive and fun to play with. The book has 6 pages with different activities which will help the child to learn shapes, colors and to develop his fine motor skills, his diligence, his logical skills. The front cover has his name on and the letter come off as they have velcro on their back, making easier to learn his name. The back cover has a pocket where he can storage some of his favorite things. So this is the final result.

The first page is about shapes and colors. He will learn to associate this 5 different shapes: circle, star, heart, triangle and square.
The second page will help him to learn the color of traffic lights. He can stop the car at red, he can wait when it's yellow and then he can move the car along as the green light shows. Also the helicopter can "fly" around.

The next page is about feeling different textures. The mane of the lion is made from different types of ribbons that he can feel and grab. He can also learn about every part of a lions face: the eyes, the ears, the mouth, the nose, etc. And the fun part is that he can open and shout the lions mouth.
The other page is all about getting the hedgehog to the apple. This maze will help him to develop his motor fine skills. And it's fun to. Honest to be, I really like this, I even find myself enjoying playing with it :).

The fifth page  will also help him to develop his motor fine skills, but as a lot of children enjoy zipping and unzipping, it will be fun for him to do that. This was the first time when I made this page, but now I have improved it and you can see it here: http://lotachandmade.blogspot.co.uk/2017/03/quiet-tablet-rainbow-zippers.html.
The 6th page is about stacking and he can learn the idea of small to big.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Stay tuned to see more of my books and work.
